Bandera Texas x Kentucky bluegrass hybrid actually is a hybrid bluegrass, it is the newest advance that combines the extensive rhizomes and heat and drought tolerance of Texas bluegrass with the turf quality and desity of Kentucky bluegrass. Bandera extends the range of bluegrass usage much further south and also shows superior wear tolerance. Sod growers and sports fields will benefit from its high performance. High turf quality, fast establishment and good uniformity. Generally needs 13% less water.
Establishment: Emergence: 4 to 8 days under ideal conditions First mowing: approximately 2 weeks after emergence First limited use: 3 weeks (light traffic) Heavier Traffic or child play: 8-10 weeks dependant on weather, care, and turf density.
