Salt-Away was developed as a maintenance product to remove salt from your equipment after every exposure to salt. It is water based and contains properties that attack and remove salt from any surface. Water alone will not remove salt. Treating your car, truck, RV, salt spreaders, snow plows, blowers, blades, buckets, or any part of your equipment with Salt-Away works to protect against salt corrosion and reduces costly repairs caused by the corrosive action of salt.
Use of Salt-Away will not correct past damage to metal but will work to prevent future damage. Salt-Away breaks down and removes old salt and rust build-up with repeated use.
Salt-Away can be used safely on all metals, aluminum, paint, fiberglass, rubber, plastic, chrome, glass, or any surface exposed to salt. Works on sodium chloride, calcium chloride, and magnesium chloride. Will not damage paint or strip wax.

Leaves an invisible protective film containing high-performing corrosion inhibitors to protect from rusting until surface is again exposed to water or salt.
For best results:
Remove mud, dirt, snow, ice, and other debris so Salt-Away can be applied directly to the metal. (Leaving the Salt-Away solution on the equipment after application is recommended.) Because Salt-Away is water based, it can be removed from the treated areas by driving through water or by washing the vehicle.
Salt-Away does not bond to surfaces.
Economical to use - dilution ratio for pressure applications (water hose, pressure washer):
512 parts of water to 1 part Salt-Away (1 ounce Salt-Away to 4 gallons water.)
At 512 parts water to 1 part Salt-Away, 20 gallons of mixture covers approximately 1315 square feet.
Available in gallon case packs and 15, 30, and 55 gallon drums.

Recommended dilution ratios:
- 1 oz concentrate / 4 gallons water or 1:512 for pressure applications (water hose, pressure washer, or other non-bottle spray applications). * Recommended for exterior salt removal for general maintenance applications.
- 1 oz concentrate / 2 gallons water or 1:256 for tougher exterior salt removal problems.
- 2-4 oz concentrate / 1 gallon water or 1:64-32 for small parts immersion purposes.
- 5%-10% Salt-Away to 95%-90% water
spray bottle applications for light salt exposure, small area use. No rinsing required.
- 20% Salt-Away to 80% water - spray bottle applications.
Regular, frequent use applications for heavier salt exposure, small areas. Recessed bolts, metal junctures, areas where salt is trapped.
- At 512 parts water to 1 part Salt-Away, 20 gallons of mixture covers approximately 1315 square feet.

How does corrosion happen?
Salt does not cause corrosion, it just SPEEDS up the process. Salt is HYDROSCOPIC- meaning that it attracts moisture and absorbs it. This is why salt causes corrosion to happen at an accelerated rate. Where ever salt gets into and stays, it's always attracting water from the atmosphere and absorbing it.
THREE THINGS MUST BE PRESENT in order for corrosion to occur... (1) Corrodible material, (2) Water, and (3) Oxygen.
*** If you get rid of the salt..... you slow the natural process of corrosion down.
NO PRODUCT CAN NEUTRALIZE SALT!
Salt’s PH is 7 – it is already neutral, therefore it’s impossible to neutralize it.
(((FACT: SALT CONTAINS BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IONS. Causes Electrolyze, all it needs is a conductor (water is your conductor) – this is how it can follow and "eat" electrical lines.)))
Salt-Away is not acidic or Aggressive (which is GREAT – lots of products used are acidic or aggressive which is very detrimental to metals and can cause more problems) – so it’s best if you can let salt-away sit in there and work (let it sit for 24-hours if you have a lot of "build-up")
example: Things tend to “Rust from the Inside out” because salt can get into those little nooks and cranny’s. It tends to build up and cause accelerated corrosion. So, it’s best for Salt-Away to SOAK IN and break apart the salt crystals so that you can come back and spray it off. This will wash away the build-up like magic J
Some may take up to 3 applications to TRULY breakdown all the salt sitting in there. It’s progressive in the way it works – As long as it’s moist in there – it’s working.
YOU DO NOT NEED SOAP!!! Soap tends to leave a residue. You can hook the applicator straight to your hose or power washer. Your equipment will look better than with soap and will also be protected!
